Measure the footprint and the cat
A tall cat tree is not automatically a spacious cat tree. Compare its base footprint, platforms, openings and usable sleeping areas. Measure the room and note nearby doors, curtains and routes through the home. Product height alone does not tell you whether a large cat can turn around comfortably on a perch.
Compare platforms, condos and hammocks
Look for the dimensions and any stated limits of each part. An outer condo measurement can include thick walls or supports, leaving less usable interior space. A photograph showing a cat is not a reliable scale drawing. In a multi-cat household, consider access routes and the number of usable resting surfaces rather than simply counting decorative features.
Check support and assembly requirements
Read the base dimensions, fastening instructions and any supplied anchoring requirements. Check whether you need tools or additional mounting hardware.
